Is your life so bad that you really want off the wheel?

I am 54. A recovering alcoholic. I am old, I have illness. I use Buddhist teachings to help me be at peace in this world.

One time I was ruminating about afterlife and heaven in a Christian sense.

I figured that my idea of heaven would be just to live again and face the challenges in said life. The good and the bad. The triumph and defeat. And love and love lost.

Then I realized I was actually in my rendition of heaven. I am in my idea of heaven.

M;y life? It really sucks but there are glimpses of beauty and love that I wouldn't trade.

I don't want to go to some nebulous place full of peace and bliss and whatever.

I want to reroll the dice and hopefully see more beauty and love and the ingenuity of mankind.

I humbly ask you for your thoughts.
