How to...
Hi, i'm a bit confused about which paths you can take to reach enlightenment.
I've decided to drop the brahma-viharas because if i recall, they can lead to a good destination, but in so far as they can lead to concentration, they won't lead to insight.
I also know that there's concentration into insight, which would be getting into the jhanas, and then doing insight, and that there's also just cultivating insight by simply being mindful at every moment, until it just clicks. The former which requires sitting until absorption, and the latter, noting.
Which method is superior?
And how exactly IS insight performed? I can see the three marks inherent in all forms, as i say to myself that is impermanent, that is suffering, and that is nonself, but it doesnt... it doesnt do anything. It simply tells me, hey, this object over here, that is not worth paying any attention to. So is that supposed to be "dispassion" in a nutshell?
Really lost as to how to properly practice. I've managed to get a bit deep into jhana practice a couple of times, but that's about it, to the extent by which i know i've made it thus far.
Thanks, would really appreciate the feedback on this. And forgive me, i know i may have got alot of this wrong.
