Mindfulness of Emotions
Western mindfulness puts a lot of emphasis on identifying and labeling emotions. I have found this helpful sometimes. If for instance you become aware that you are frustrated, you can do something about it like.
I am wondering what the Buddhist perspective on this it. It seems like emotions don't fit neatly into the four foundations of mindfulness (they are kaya, vedanā and cita). Would the Buddha have wanted us to deconstruct our emotions instead of just labeling them? Is there value in starting with this corse approach first?
