Is "An introduction to buddhism" - Dalai Lama XIV a good introduction?
I am aware of the recommended books in the faq and if you think I should start with any of those then please go ahead and tell me.
I'd also appreciate it if the answer were to come from someone who has read this book, though I would gladly accept any help from anyone that just has a different recommendation.
