The ant, the man, and the journey.
I recently posted a question about how can there be rebirth without a soul and the answers opened my mind to this thought.
I started life as an ant. I cared very much about ant things like defending the colony.
Then after a long ant life I died.
I was reborn as a bear. I cared very much about bear things like hibernating for the winter.
Then after a long bear life I died.
I was reborn as a beaver. I cared very much about beaver things like building dams.
Then after a long beaver life I died.
I was finally reborn as the man I am now. Now as a man I don't care about defending the colony or hibernating for the winter or building dams.
As a human I care about human things. I am still the ant and the bear and the beaver but I have changed into this form as I will change into other forms.
I am not any one of these things but I am also all of these things. Each form an essential and indistinguishable part of the whole.
Just like each and every thing in the universe isn't an individual thing but an essential and indistinguishable part of the whole.
So if I am not any one thing and I'm not an individual being, than who am I?
I am the journey.
Nameste. 🙇
