How is it that you get free will when you have no self?
In Christianity there is a critical difference between humanity and the rest of nature, so in this isolated way free will makes sense. The Buddhists believe that everything arises dependently and there is no essential difference between say, the clouds and lower animals (hence the vegetarianism). What is it that gives us free will then, if animals and rivers don't have it? How is every moment not an effect of deterministic causes and what is the relevance of rebirth if there is no free will?
