Just beginning my path, I'm intrigued by Zen, but should I jump right into it?
I really want to dedicate myself to Buddhism. I've dabbled, really new to this, but I'm getting serious. Started learning about Zen. I'm getting sucked in by it, but get the sense that, despite it's lofty claims, it misses some valuable and practical aspects of other types of Buddhism. Want to get a sense for what the community thinks about beginners jumping straight into Zen. Any advice? Any alternatives to survey for someone leaning towards Zen? Are average people generally better off following a different path, not having what it really takes for Zen?
