Who are Amitabha and Medicine Buddha? Why are they not in the pali canon?

Good morning,

So, I was reading this this comparative study between the traditions of Buddhism and it says that Theravada recognizes only gotama and the past ones as Buddha.

In the mahayana sections it says other contemporary Buddhas like Amitabha and Medicine Buddha are also recognized. But, who are they? are they pacceka Buddhas? Because there can only be the dhamma of 1 Samma sambuddha at a time right? Why is there no mention of them in the Tititaka (at least not that I know of)?
