Does your religion guide and give meaning to your life ?

I believe in buddhism but do not know much about it. Christians go to church to learn more about their religion and pray but im not sure if theres a place to learn more about buddhism and know little about it. My father believes in buddhism thus leading me to follow him and making me a buddhist but im not entirely sure how to be one
