Why is it more important to pursue self-realisation than to try to fix the external world?
It seems rather selfish right now since I am not compassionate enough to pursue such for all beings. Plus I am not quite sure what this exactly means.
How can one enlightened being affect the world? I have read that many, after releasing nirvana, will let go of form and pass from this world. How does this help anyone?
I am aware that the external is impermanent and fleeting, so I can understand why it does not matter so much to try to fix the world's problems. But I have yet to find a good answer to my question. Please advise me, those that know!
