Facing political stress

I've seen a lot of posts recently here about politics.

The diamond sutra says

So you should view this fleeting world -- A star at dawn, a bubble in a stream, A flash of lightening in a summer cloud, A flickering lamp, a phantom, and a dream.

All phenomena are impermanent. That goes for America, democracy, freedom, all parties, all of humanity, and much, much more. Recently I've had spikes of feeling upset over the course America is taking. It seems both of the two major parties truly wish for a one-party system, which sounds a little too autocratic, if not totalitarian to my liking.

But then I reflect on impermanence. I see that not only are all politics of this world non-eternal, but so are all my thoughts and beliefs about politics. They come and go. The internet makes its money off of upsetting readers as well, and after reflecting, its obvious that this is not right livelihood nor is it wise to dwell on (even when under the guise of being "better informed").

It is better to continue on the Way, maintaining mental serenity throughout the storm, than to dwell on politics. There has been no point in my lifetime better suited to giving me ample opportunity to practice this than now. For that I am grateful. It has been wise for me to ask myself "who is upset by this news?"

I wish all to be suffering free, democrats, republicans, non-voters, the living, the dead, obama, trump, buddha, hitler, and everyone else. May we all reach nirvana and transcend this existence of suffering, including you, dear reddit reader.
