New Kadampa Tradition

Hi everyone, just to clarify, I am not a Buddhist, just very interested in it and it’s ideas. For a class paper, I decided to visit a Buddhist temple and write about my experience. However, the only one that I was able to attend was a Kadampa meditation center. After visiting, I read it was affiliated with NKT.

As I started to write my paper, I started to read about a lot NKT controversies. Could someone explain to me how they personally perceive NKT? I’m not a member whatsoever, just curious on what it is.
